Moving On

When you're ready to Move On from the YMCA, your Keyworker will be around to help you through. This might include helping you to choose somewhere to live and getting you registered on waiting lists for council or Housing Association properties.

Once you've found a new place that you're happy with, we'll be able to help you with moving in.

We can help you with finding furniture and equipment for your new place, and we can offer you support in finding the money to pay for it.

We can also visit your new place with you to help with organising repairs, measuring for carpets and making sure that all of your services are connected.

Once you've moved in, we can help you with setting up Housing Benefit claims, finding out about local facilities and getting used to your new home.

Your Keyworker will be able to visit you to continue with support - and of course, we will expect you to visit us and let us know how you're getting on!
